So, I’ve been (with all of my spare time – YEAH RIGHT!) checking out different websites to that “pay you to blog.” The truth of the matter is that while I love PayPerPost’s concept they have become increasingly more difficult to work with. On top of that, I flat out don’t take opportunities that I think would be a complete snooze for my visitors PLUS I have to have something to say on the topic – period!

Well, I applied at this new website to blog for them. I thought it’d be something similar to PayPerPost. After a few days of no reply of acceptance for my blog I thought that I was rejected and thought nothing else of it. That very same day, a personal e-mail came from a guy at this new site telling me they liked my blog blah blah blah… wanted to know if I could call him directly so he could explain how their program works.

I called, instantly. I happen to have been sitting right here when the e-mail came in. It was an interesting conversation but he said to me that the posts are assigned to me at random and that I don’t get to pick and choose what I blog for.

“It could be anything from Viagra to Mortgages.” I thought for a minute . . . and said “Well, I probably wouldn’t blog about Viagra since I’m L E S B I A N and have no use for it and it’s just not something I really want to sell to my visitors.”

Could you image what a joke it would be for anyone reading my blog to see that I had blogged about Viagra…

“You want your man to last longer, use Viagra.” I mean, come on…I really have no place in discussing such matters.

Then the truth came – they’re not trying to sell to my visitors, it’s all about search engines, page rank, and links into the company’s website.

I was like OK, whatever. Whatever you want to assign me.

Later in the conversation I asked what the pay was per post on average. His answer, $5.00 USD. Ya know I’m not so hard up (pun intended) for 5 bucks that I’m going to fill my blog up with complete junk or waste my time blogging about VIAGRA! You gotta give a girl a topic she can write about. It’s been 10+ years since I’ve touch a man that means PRE-VIAGRA, I really have nothing to say on the subject.

Here it is a week later and even though I was accepted and told I would be receiving my assignments to blog for companies soon I haven’t heard anything.

Oh but let me not forget one thing – if I wanted to market their company to my Kreative Hosting Solutions’ customers they’ll pay me a finders fee. I replied with having to discuss that with my business partner but the answer is NO. I won’t blog about Viagra and won’t give my KHS customers the opportunity to do the same – they want to blog for a company like that, find it ya damn self. Don’t we get enough of that kind of junk spam in our mailboxes to not have to be filling up perfectly wonderful blogs with it?

My final conclusion is this blogging for money thing is starting to get out of hand. And while it’s no longer my first choice I’d rather accept opportunities as I choose to with PayPerPost. There obviously isn’t a fair and moral competition.
