IzeaRanks Is Finally Here!
Since Google took away PageRank from bloggers, and then made us beg to get our PageRank back, millions of bloggers have been asking and begging for a different system to rank our blogs.
Izea, the company behind PayPerPost, Zookoda, Blogger’s Choice Awards, and many more today launched its newest spin-off…IzeaRanks!
Going head to head with Google and their far from perfect PageRank, IzeaRanks aims to target the real rank of the site based on real data and information.
The core formula being:
70% weighted towards visitors per day
20% weighted towards amount of ACTIVE inbound links per day
10% weighted towards page views per day
Having been an attendee of PostieCon, I got an idea of RealRank when they unleashed their next huge company to come, SocialSpark. And then again when RealRank was used inside of PeyPerPost.
I was thrilled then with the pieces I got of RealRank. Using a simple line of code, named IzeaToolKit (ITK), your RealRank will be delivered to you via IzeaRanks daily.
Because the activity on your website is ever changing, your daily RealRank is something that’ll always be changing.
It’s not a perfect system, it can be gamed. But it is a system that makes sense…especially when you stack it against the imperfections of other companies.
Izea said today on their blog, in regards to the other companies:
Google PR
Google PageRank is determined based on the combination of an unpublished ranking algorithm (which rates the quality of your site based on the number of other sites linking to it) and some apparently manual overrides to that algorithm’s result. PageRank is not based on real traffic, but on what Google perceives as the quality of a website as determined by a link rating algorithm and some cloudy rules. Thus, I can have a PR of 4 and 1,000 visitor a day or a PR of 4 and 10,000 visitors a day.
Alexa
Alexa Rank uses Alexa toolbar users’ browsing activity to extrapolate a guess as to a site’s actual traffic, and what percentage of Internet users are likely to visit it. While Alexa attempts to estimate traffic based on a sample, they are inaccurate and do a terrible job when it comes to sites with smaller niche audiences.ComScore
ComScore does an even worse job when it comes to smaller sites. Many bloggers don’t even register at all on ComScores radar. If you aren’t a major media property your blog might as well not exist. These issues aside the major problem is that all of these ranking sites focus on the web in general, taking into account enormous media properties and groups of sites. Blogs don’t stand a fighting chance. No matter how good your blog is your not going to compete against Yahoo, YouTube or Wikipedia.
It’s time that we had something to really measure our sites worth. By being able to see what exactly our site has to offer through Izea Ranks our sites become more valuable. We’ll make more money with advertising and sponsored posts and we’ll have a realistic view at how we stack up to other blogs… including the popular blogs.
What needs to happen now?
Community support. What do you have to lose by knowing your rank? NOTHING! Sign up today and start tracking your RealRank!
By installing the IzeaToolKit into your blog’s theme you’ve done nothing but get yourself on the ground floor of something that could very well change how the Internet and advertisers view your website.
This is good.
It’s time for change. Will you take part in it?

I think its an ok idea. But I’m not installing any code that comes from PPP ever again on my blog.

Guessing that you’re upset with PayPerPost by the statement of “ever again,” I want to also say that you could be missing a huge boat. Testing a system and using it as a tool that may earn you money (that makes Google happy too) is not only beneficial for you and your blog but others as well.
Lastly, if you’re concerned that you’ll get slapped by Google for the IzeaToolKit installed, that simply won’t be correct. I kept my ITK installed the entire time I was being kicked with no PageRank and when I requested reconsideration and regained my PageRank.

I don’t get any from Stumble. I can’t find my e-mail with my information to login, and it doesn’t work that great in Opera (FF kicked the bucket, and won’t re-work again for me, no matter how many times I attempt a re-install :(), so I semi-gave up on it

Okay, I rejoined, since they have it available for Opera. Hopefully, I can still claim my own blog.

Thanks! I actually got FF working again. A plugin decided to malfunction (I think it was Twitter, XD), but it’s all good again, now, thankfully. Opera’s Stumble widget worked like bunk.
