Entrecard Credits Contest Follow-Up

Win Entrecard CreditsOn February 1st, I announced that the top commentator for the month would pick up some free Entrecard credits from me.

I also said that the second top commentator would get some Entrecard credits from me.

In the last couple of weeks, I have really built up some Entrecard credits so I thought I’d do a follow-up post about this contest and the exact prizes.

1st Place: 500 Credits
2nd Place: 300 Credits
3rd Place: 200 Credits

I’m officially making these the prizes. I want to encourage you to comment, take a look at what I’ve got posted, add in your two cents, join the conversation, etc.

Officially, I’ve decided not to use Entrecard credits to advertise on any sites. I think that it’d be better used for people who are more active within the Entrecard community than I am. Frankly, there’s an entire community there that I don’t spend enough time with. Other people do and I feel that those people are more deserving of spending my credits.

Now having said that, there’s only way to get all these credits from me… comment! Share your thoughts, let me know your opinion. At the end of the month, it just may be YOU rewarded for your time and effort.

I think you have an interesting thought about the community at Ecard, or at least about the ways that card dropping most helps people. I’ve talked with some bloggers who have felt that they don’t receive a decent ROI from advertising, and I agree in general if the expected return is clicks. But I like to advertise as a way of meeting new bloggers to the system. So if I accumulate 80 from dropping and 20 from receiving drops in a day, I then “advertise” on 3-6 blogs I found that I like that range in price from 20-40 ECs. It’s like making a super drop–they will most likely check out my site before approving, and so maybe I’ll end up connecting with them. Unfortunately it takes a lot of time. But just as advertising–it’s simply not worth it.

Deb » Time is the biggest thing with Entrecard. I’ve read many blog posts about “dropping faster” which just really goes back to the lack of connection between bloggers. Sucks, really.

On the flip side, I just plain enjoy seeing some of the cards. It’s a different spin. We’ll see how long it really lasts for people.

Oh goody, I like ecard. I’ve been dropping like crazy recently and it is frustrating to see I can drop 300 and recieve only 50 back.

I’m not sure if I’m going to stick with entrecard, either. I mean, I’ve gotten a few extra visitors, but most of them don’t stick around or leave any sort of comments. I did get a couple really nice comments left at entrecard, as recommendations (one makes absolutely no sense, especially considering I was called a guy, and it’s damn obvious if they’d actually looked that I was a female o.O).

Asuka_Aki » It takes time but people do drop back. The more your drop the more you’ll get noticed as well. And they’ve started a new trend of “U Drop, I Follow” which frankly is a little strange but a good play on the “U Comment, I Follow” trend.

Sarah » Recommendations, yes, those have been great. I’ve gotten a few as well. Sounds to me with yours people just did it to put their name out there a little more. And with everyone having the same goal, the idea is quickly becoming useless.

There’s only been a handful of people that rave about it. I’m not sure how they’re doing it that it’s truly something successful for their blog.

I have a feeling those people who are thinking it works for them, either a) are delusional or b) are using more than one system, and are contributing too much to entrecard

Does that mean, Ms. Top Commentator, that you don’t want the 500 credits? LOL

Entrecard Credits are shiny, we wants them, we must haves them, more preciousss!

    Evil little buggers.

Darned, you got me to comment, good show :)

On a serious note, a large number of people on the net who seem to be trying to help others aren’t doing anything but taking what they can. Congratulations on being more giving than taking, good still has a chance over evil!

Popular Wealth » Now that’s a nice compliment, thank you. And thanks for proving the theory that it works. Not just one comment from you but, several. I love it. Seems to do the trick… and truth be told, even after I give these credits away there are still plenty more.

EntreCard sounded more interesting that it might have been. It seems to be only recprical clicking. I’m ashamed to admit, Sarah made me realise the time I spend on Entrecard could have been used in a better way elsewhere.
