All In One SEO Pack Finds New Developer

As I installed the All In One SEO Pack plug-in today for a new blog (for my Dad), I noticed there was an update to the plug-in. Quickly I headed over to WordPress to figure out how the plug-in that is no longer supported has an update to it.

Seems that after just a very short period of time, a new developer has signed on to the All In One SEO Pack to keep up the work that Uberdose, the plug-in’s original developer started.

The WordPress page for the plug-in sites that the latest update is today. Seems the news is fresh out of the bag with no official announcement yet to be seen on either developer’s blog.

The new developer carries the username hallsofmontezuma on WordPress.org and is the author of WP Security Scan and SMS Text Message. Going beyond plug-in development, you can find All In One SEO Pack Plug-in’s new author over at Semper Fi Web Design.

For all those worried about that $97.00 USD investment on SEO Sniper, have no fear. Seems to me that All In One SEO Pack Plug-in will now live to see the coming of WordPress 2.6 due out in August.

Don’t you just love open-source? (and more specifically OS developers!), I was troubled by the ‘no longer supported’ announcement too - now I am relieved, if not elated.

Stirling work to uberdose for doing the do so far, and clicks for hallsofmontezuma for picking it up - wohoo…

    Utah SEO: Indeed it is!

Nommo: There is ups and downs to open source and the announcement that the plug-in was no longer supported would have certainly been a downfall. But I have to agree with you that I’m thrilled with the news. My hope is that sometime soon we’ll see All In One SEO Pack included with the WordPress package (like Akismet is). Time will tell.

Clicks to hallsofmontezuma, yeah I’m sure that’s increasing. I cannot even begin to tell you how many visitors I have sent him just from this post…

    Hello Katy,

I’m trying to figure out how some of the comments on this post are made where the poster name is the a link to a url that links back to this post. Where the poster name is just the title of the page that is linked to, and the comment is basically a quote from the linked to page. It seems as if this is some kind of automatic system. Is this a plugin that is installed on your end to just show comments rather than trackbacks, or is this function installed on the side of the 3rd party? Thanks!

@BM Auction: What you’re seeing is the standard default way of sending a trackback. Since I you commented and pointed out that I didn’t separate my comments from trackbacks I’ve now modified the theme code to just have the links at the end of the comments. But to make sure I answer your question, those are just standard trackbacks.

Do trackbacks automatically get posted? I wrote a post that linked to this one, but it isn’t appearing, do I need to do something to make it appear? Thank you for all your help! And I’m sorry if I keep bothering you with all these random questions, you’ve just been so helpful.

@BM Auction: No, they do not automatically get posted here as I moderate them all. However, even after looking in what has been caught as spam (it’s usually where trackbacks end up), I did not receive your trackback. I’m sorry.

However, if you linked directly to my post from yours, logging in and editing your post (even something simple) may trigger another trackback to me.

As an alternative, please feel free to drop the link as a comment and I’ll ensure it gets posted. And I did notice that you have sent me a few visitors, thank you, I appreciate it!

I am using this plugin in one of my wordpress. It does help in getting the best result in search engine. I have not update to the latest version as yet. Thinking to do it now.
