Blog Love #5 Competitions and Contests
The blogosphere is the perfect place to hold competitions and contests. With multiple promotional and learning benefits to each, there’s no shortage of them running at any given time. So, with today’s blog love I want to tell you about two places to get yourself involved.
Daily Blog Tips is holding the first ever Blogging Idol. Better than American Idol, you’ll have your shot to actually get involved in this competition.
Limited to only bloggers who have less than 1,00 RSS Subscribers, the competition will have sponsors so you’ll have your chance to win a great prize. The goal? Market and promote your blog to get the highest number of RSS subscribers in a given period of time. Each blogger will also compile what they’re doing to reach goals. The point isn’t to cheat the system but to genuinely learn to promote your blog, increase interest, and thus increase RSS subscribers.
With enough applications to join the competition the anticipation start date is June 23rd. And of course, yours truly will be taking part in the competition!

I think competitions are a great idea to bring readers to your blog. I have only been blogging for a short time, and have a competition currently running, and it has definitely increased my traffic. Really enjoy your blog!

I love contests. I was a winner of one of the digital camera bundles that PPP and HP gave away a few years ago. Use that camera almost everyday.

Lorraine: I agree! After just giving away 5 copies of the ProBlogger book I found my blog being mentioned in brand new places all over the web. It was excellent in gaining new exposure.
